Today i am going to share some imfo about special hill trains.

SHIMLA: The toy train journey from Kalka to Shimla is entrancing with 107 tunnels and lofty arched bridges. The dazzling view and the stop at the picturesque stations along the way add to the experience. 

Access to Shimla: Shimla is connected by a broad guage line up tp Kalka. From Kalka to Shimla, the "toy train" covers 96 km. of track in six hours. 

OOTY (UDHAGAMANDALAM): At a max. speed of 33 km. per hour, this "toy train" treks across plains, plantation and forest clad hills. The 16 tunnels and tall girder bridges on the way, along with the breathtaking view, make this toy train journey to Ooty, something not to be missed. 

Access to Ooty: Ooty is connected by a narrow guage line from Mettupalayam, which serves as the railhead for mainline trains. 

DARJEELING:The most famous of the little trains, is the one linking the town of New Jalpaiguri in the plains to the lovely hill station of Darjeeling. The 86 km. Darjeeling line allows the traveller an uninterrupted view of the breathtaking scenery of the Himalayas. Darjeeling Himalayan Railways (DHR) is recognised as "World Heritage Site" by UNESCO. 

Access to Darjeeling: New Jalpaiguri, the starting point of the hill train to Darjeeling, has direct connections to Calcutta, Delhi, Guwahati and other places in India. 

MATHERAN : The 77 year old line, connecting Neral to Matheran, is the main way to reach the tiny hill resort, close to Mumbai. As the little train wheezes up into the clear mountain air one can view the scenic vista of hills and plains below. 

Access to Matheran : The toy train to Matheran commences from Neral (on Mumbai - Pune line). the journey up to Matheran takes about one-and-half hours. The toy train runs between sunrise and sunset.

Tatkal Rules

Indian Railways provide train tickets, under this Tatkal Rules.
Indian Railways Tatkal rules starts five days before the date of journey excluding date of journey. Indian Railways Tatkal rules office opens at 8 AM in the morning.
Passenger needs reservation under tatkal rules need not produce any identity proof nither at the time of reserving nor during the Traveling.
As an alternative of full coach being allotted as Tatkal Coach, there will be Tatkal quota in each train in 2A, 3A, AC Chair Car and sleeper classes
They are as under:-

    2 AC - 4 berths per coach
    3 AC - 6 berths per Coach
    AC Chair Car - 6 seats per coach
    SL - 10% of the accommodation on one coach which is less
According to Indian Railways Tatkal rules, the normal utilization of Tatkal accommodation in above said classes of the trains during six months period i.e. April to September is 80% and above, tatkal charges valid during this period will be charged through out the year i.e. for both peak and non peak period.
There is no distinct train called Tatkal. According to Indian Railways Tatkal Rules, the unused Tatkal quota will be allotted to passengers who allotted wait-listing status ticket.

REFUNDS - 25% of total ticket amount, without tatkal charge will be refunded on cancellation of tatkal ticket, 24 hours before the schedule train departure. On the other hand, full refund of amount and tatkal charges will be returned on the tickets reserved under this Indian Railways Tatkal rules in the following situations.
hey are:-
If the train is delayed by more than 3 hours at the journey starting point of the passenger & not the boarding point if the passenger's journey starting point and boarding point are different.
 If the train is running in a different direction and passenger is not prepared to travel.
 If the train is running in a different direction and traveler boarding station, the destination or both the stations are not in the similar direction.
In case of non attachment of coach in which Tatkal accommodation has been allocated and the passenger has not been provided accommodation in the same class.
If the traveler is not willing to travel who has been provided accommodation in lower class.
If the traveler traveling in lower class will be given refund of different of fare and also the different of Indian Railways Tatkal rules.
The Indian Railways Tatkal rules will be done only from Starting Station to Destination Station of the train with boarding facility from midway station. However, Zonal railways have been given the caution of imposing limitations on Tatkal booking regarding important trains as end-to-end or keeping it free or imposing distance restriction etc.
Prior information on availability, over all utilization of the room in the train.

Special Trains are alloted for sankranthi holidays in Hyderabad

Sankranthi is the festival of andhra people in andhra pradesh. they celebrate this festival along with their family members . people Who work in cities like hyderabad,secundrabad  go to their native places to celebrate with their family members.
So, during this season holidays  there will be a heavy crowd and there is no place to step in that train so the government has thought to allot a special train for these holidays to comfort people for their value of money.
